The purpose of 3:14 Ministries is to lead athletes, coaches and others to a deeper relationship with God, and to foster personal growth and wholeness in them by modeling the life of Jesus Christ, by discipling them through the teaching of God’s Word, and by providing them encouragement, counsel, prayer and authentic relationship.

Pastor Eric Chaffin is the Founder-Chairman of 3:14 Ministries. As the name suggests, 3:14 Ministries is based upon Philippians 3:14, which says, “I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us up to heaven.” Christians often struggle and sweat in the race of life, but success is possible. 3:14 was created to not only encourage believers, but also to equip them for victory in Christ.

For eighteen years, Eric Chaffin has been speaking to children, teens, singles, college students, men’s groups, churches, civic clubs, and other groups, numbering from 6 to 6000. Whether it’s been drug prevention lectures, crusades, or Monday Night Fellowship and Sunday Night Huddle bible studies, or team chapel services, Eric’s messages have always been relevant, dynamic and scripturally sound.

Eric’s love of sports is often evident in his preaching and teaching, and he recognizes the effectiveness of expressing Biblical themes in athletic terms. He has penned the sports-themed devotional books, Finish Strong: Tackling Life Head On (2004) and Everything I Know About God I Learned From Football (2008). He he has been a chapel speaker for numerous high school, arena football league teams, and such college teams as the Kansas Jayhawks and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Eric also served as a team chaplain for the arena league’s Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz and Lubbock Renegades. From 1998 thru 2005, he coordinated the Monday Night Fellowship outreach ministry of Eagle Heights Church in Oklahoma City, where he was also involved in small group and young adult ministry.

Since coming to Lubbock, Texas, Eric has served as a pastoral teaching associate at Turning Point Community Church, and also as senior pastor of Broadview Baptist Church.
